Portrait Cellars is a small family Winery. Our red wines are grown exclusively at our 12 acre vineyard on Red Mountain near Benton City, Washington. We planted the vineyard in 1997 and call it "E & E Shaw Vineyards" for Ed and Eve Shaw. (We own it.) Our Riesling vineyard is in Prosser. We age our red wines for 32 months or more in predominately new French and other European oak barrels and typically release them 3 to 4 years after harvest. We believe this patient aging before release helps make our red wines exceptional.
